American, Turkish diplomat’s daughter, who has moved around from city to city since she was born. Cities such as; Tehran, Washington D.C., Ankara, Berlin, Beijing, Istanbul, Doha, Dubai, Madrid, Chicago, New York.
I majored in graphic design at The Faculty of Arts & Design with a full scholarship at Kadir Has University, one of Istanbul’s most historic buildings. An old tobacco factory which is now an scientific institution located a few meters away from the Haliç, the harbor inlet known to English speakers as “the Golden Horn” since Ottoman times. My advertising and design career kicked off when I started to intern at McCann Erickson Istanbul during my senior year. Right before I graduated in 2010 I landed a job as Jr. Art Director at TBWA\Istanbul. While I was growing my experience in the creative industry I noticed that not only did I want to continue designing but I also wanted to be involved in creating great ideas. I wanted to focus on bringing forward engaging ideas that came from smart insights and executed work to my clients with smart strategies, great art direction, and craft, especially in the digital world. After TBWA\Istanbul I got an opportunity to experience advertising in the GCC. Winning a Young Lynx and a Young Lions award at the age of 27 I got to represent the UAE at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Following those awards I got to work with a great group of creatives from all parts of the world to bring to life two impactful projects; Tummyfish a project created through Nestlé initiative and Potatoes On Mars a partnership with NASA, which both won awards in very prestigious shows such as; D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, Effies and several more.
In 2018 I did a short-term sabbatical in Madrid, Spain where I got to freelance with internationally known graphic design studios. After 6 months, I decided to come back home to the U.S. and pursue my career to become a female lead in the industry.
Finally, I would like to mention I am a huge cheese fan. When I am not sitting around eating cheese, I love to listen to music, illustrate and write my book, which hopefully I will finish before I die. Besides that I love to travel, snowboard, longboard, sail, swim (duh), and take long walks with my amazing dog. I always love to find time to host dinners with wonderful company, if I don’t want to cook I love trying out a new spot in the city for great food, drinks, music, and dancing.
